Nothing like a 7 dollar cup of coffee and a 5 dollar scone, just as bad as Panera, a half sandwich slice of cucumber lettuce and pesto with green tea drink for 18 dollars
There is nothing at Panera that I eat. Just the usual random 5 ingredients tossed onto bread. I do not like sprouts on a sandwich.
Somewhere along the line, Starbucks made a big shift from a full cafe experience (eclectic surroundings, friendly and knowledgeable baristas, and high quality coffee drinks) into a mass-market, quick turnaround of unusual flavors.
None of the early stores had drive-thrus, and there was an emphasis on cozy furniture, local art on the wall, and a staff that could explain the intricacies of coffee growing and roasting. Now, it's all about pushing customers through the line. They traded their old clientele for another, and they have essentially reached the ceiling on growth with that model.
Have not been back since.
How about a hip new campaign. Joe BIden inspired coffee that smells like a little girl.
You can make your own pod?
Do you know her CV?
Or better put a resume, etc?
Right now you seem to be leaning into she’s black so she’s a DEI hire.
I would say DEI, but just a guess based on her age and race.
we LOVE lattes, but make them for pennies at home, WHENEVER we want and WITHOUT driving anywhere ...
we’ve used this for a couple of years:
https://www.breville.com/us/en/products/espresso/bes878.html?sku=BES878BSS1BUS1
breville often puts it on sale right before christmas ...
it paid for itself in a couple of months ...
“Starbucks wants to market the concept that the purchase of a cup of coffee makes the purchaser cooler than those who didn’t. Which is a load of hogwash. Purchasing Starbucks shows only how stupid the purchaser is with his money.”
REAL cool is learning how to make superb espresso drinks yourself at home!
disjointed article with lots of random paragraphs ... looks like it was AI written ...
You drink a lot of lattes.
“You drink a lot of lattes.”
not really ...
three double-shot lattes in the AM: one for me, two for the mizzus ... sometimes the boys next door come over for one, and i like to treat any hired hands if they’re so inclined
... plus espresso beans and 2% milk are relatively cheap (about $1.00 per latte at home) compared to the $5.00 prices at the ubiquitous chain coffee shops, so savings of $4.00/home-latte times, say, average of four lattes per day equals $16.00/day savings ... i paid $600.00 for my machine when it was on sale a couple of years ago, so about 38 days to break even point ... and YUGE time savings and YUGE convenience ... plus fun to make your own, anyway ...
