Not to denigrate your service or knowledge but as I see it this will only end when one side or the other has no more blood or treasure to use and it looks like that advantage goes to the Russians. There always seems to be an endless reserve of Russians.
This seems to be just another go round in an ancient Eastern European blood feud and has nothing to do with us.
Russia has severe demographic problems, with a low birthrate. Ukraine's is even worse. I wouldn't call the Russians manpower reserves endless. In the Soviet days, much of their armies were made up of men from the other Republics.
As far as "another go round in an ancient Eastern European blood feud" we had plenty of that with the ancient WESTERN European blood feuds. I'm against US involvement and treasure.
We pretty much are in agreement. Neither Putin or Zelensky are angels.
As far as Western Europe, I’ll never quite understand why America was dragged into WW1 but in WW2 the Japs attacked us at Pearl Harbor and three days later Nazi Germany declared war on us. The only country, as far as I know, ever do so.
