A little more info—the reason for the short “warning” time is because hypersonic missiles travel low and the curvature of the planet means that ground radar cannot detect them until they are “line of sight”.

The old ballistic missiles give much longer “warning” time while they are in the air.

Hypersonic vehicles don't like traveling low. Thicker air means more drag. More drag means more fuel to go that fast. More fuel spent means less range. Ballistic hypersonics have the range because they get out of most of the atmosphere. Low-altitude hypersonics lose range because they don't go high up.

The US and its allies cannot beat Afghanistan, and you think we can take down Russia? WE in the US are the ones being taken down.

These US can easily beat Afghanistan. The problem arises when you try to force nation-building on a bunch of medieval religious-fanatic tribes that hate each other (and you) and don't want a nation.

The last time these US went to proper war with mostly unrestricted RoE, we absolutely destroyed Iraq's entire military. That's a much better analogy if we get into a real war elsewhere. China might put up a bit better of a fight, but no one else would. All this Ukraine "special operation" does is prove that in a real fight, Russia doesn't come anywhere close to us.

Probably because most reporters nowadays are smart enough to know that neither side here would respect their non-combatant status, and probably use them to locate enemy forces. Much easier to sit back in your ACd office and just let some AI write a story based of random twitters.
