Exactly zero places in the article is she called black or African. Like Trump said in the earlier FR post, for a while Kamala presented herself only as Indian and not black or anything else.

Thanks for finding this. I've been trying to find the timeline on her racial identification. Her mom was Indian, she was raised in an Indian home and family. The article you found here shows her identifying as Indian-American when she went to the Senate. I'm guessing that her 2020 run for president was her first identification as black.

Is she Indian-Jamaican-American or Indian-Jamaican-African American? I have a hard time seeing her has African-American as that is traditionally descendants of American slaves, which she is not. IIRC Collin Powell was of Jamaican descent, somewhere, maybe his autobiography, he discussed the difference for him not having that family history of slavery.

I know of only two African Americans. The first is Dr. Ahunna Obwubunka-Anyim, a General Practitioner from Nigeria, now a citizen. The second is Elon Musk.
