Very soon after Reagan left office, people who had been close to him mentioned that he had become forgetful, maybe starting to decline into Alzheimer’s.

We never saw much of him after his presidency. There was no way in hell that Nancy would’ve let him be seen while he was failing, thereby humiliating him. I’m no fan of Nancy’s, but she protected him and made sure his dignity was intact.

I understand that he wasn’t running for another term, so the FLOTUS issue isn’t there, but compare the character of these two women and how they respect their husbands.
