Civil suit only. Not criminal charges.
NY state continued to do business with Hagler and Rozenberg's managed care company after filing suit for fraud at their nursing homes.
$83 million dollars. Enough to buy a good chunk of El AL and put it in the name of Rosenberg's son, while old people fell and suffered festering sores, staffing was cut and aides and nurses were overwhelmed.
No criminal charges.
Unfortunately there are some orthodox Jews who buy up nursing homes, regarding the patients as diseased cows through whom Medicaid money flows and staff as exploitable farm hands. This was going on even before Covid, see Blue Sky. People who have no idea how to run a nursing home, who have stopped staff health insurance without telling them, who close the kitchen and send in pizza, limit patients to one diaper a day, make workers sick with Covid go in, cut staff by a third or more, operate shell companies.
I think Leticia James and other officials are terrified of the ultra-Orthodox 99% voting blocs, and of fraudsters hopping a private plane to Israel which will not extradite.
Hence civil suits and forced sales only.
If the Ultra Orthodox owners are a problem, they surely aren’t godly.
Unfortunately the world has too many people who think moral obligation applies only to their own kind. The rest don’t matter.
