Biden is trying to over-throw Netanyahu. At whatever cost.

Yes they are meddling inside Israeli politics. I wish they would meddle more with Palestinian politicians too.

Notwithstanding the Biden’s totally failed and likely corrupt dealings with Iran, we should discourage Israel from attacking Iran directly.

Diplomats have been in Beirut this week trying to get a political detente in the north. Israel will be done with most of its activity in Gaza by the end of July, and to the extent Hezbullah has been involved “in support of Gaza” (even though we know they also have their own agenda) the diplomats have been trying to back channel to Hezbullah through the very weak Lebanese government to agree to stand down once Israel winds down its Gaza operations.

Israel says that it has approved a strategic/tactical plan to invade and occupy South Lebanon and push Hezbullah back in order that the 100,000 or so Israelis who have evacuated can return to their homes. Whether it’s true or not, or achievable or not, are open questions given the history in South Lebanon. It would likely be very destructive to both sides. The US diplomats reportedly made it clear that if Hezbullah keeps it up, Israel will receive full US support for its response.

My personal opinion, Lebanon was a beautiful and ‘progressive’ country before the PLO came in and followed by the Islamist fighters, but is now a basket case country, it’s absurd they cannot control what goes on in their own country and if they can’t handle the matter then another war is inevitable whether that is next month or in the next decade. May as well attempt to clean it up now though it’s not clear to me how to do it without fighting - except maybe by supporting the government with direct and indirect assistance but the Lebanese government doesn’t really have the will to fight Hezbullah even if our warships gave them air cover from off the coast. But it would be nice to see reform inside Lebanon - a lot of the people want it and want Hezbullah out - they have a lot of other problems too, including many 100,000s of Palestinians whom they haven’t given citizenship to even those who were born there 3,4,5 generations after 1948. War is unpalatable and they don’t want Hezbullah to drag them into one but they don’t want to fight either. They need to find a solution and bring calm to the region. From there, Syria needs to dealt with (not necessarily by war but again by detente), Russia needs to wind down its war and then that leaves Iran in a potential squeeze if Biden or Trump figures out the strategy.

If anybody has to ask, then the answer is YES.

Biden will destroy the world as long as he and his family get their 10%
