Heinlein was good early on, but then he got wrapped up in nudism, homosexuality and incest. Too gross for me.

Somebody once asked Ted Sturgeon why 99% of science fiction was such crap. Never more true than today, as far as the genre goes. (Ted allegedly replied: “99% of everything is crap”.)

By all accounts, insofar as war is concerned, he’s far less hawkish than some prominent American politicians are, notably neo-cons.
