I believe the protection of the pension system is enshrined in the Illinois state constitution. Some here say that state bankruptcy is the only way the pensions won’t be paid.

Taxes here in HELLINOIS got raised another BILLION dollars, and still a drop in the bucket compared to the pensions promised to be paid.
NO, bankruptcy does not eliminate the pension debt. The state of HELLINOIS must change the IL Constitution, which it won't do, due to the number of state employees (and teachers) that they kiss ass to. They're who keep the Demoncrats in power here in HELLINOIS.
