American citizens who marry a foreigner have a difficult visa process. (It’s a popular choice for many U.S. men who want a traditional wife.) Unlike Europe, the U.S. doesn’t recognize a right to family life. The process takes months, requires documents from the foreign country, fees and possibly lawyer’s fees, and isn’t guaranteed to succeed. Men who have children abroad before or without getting married aren’t guaranteed a DNA test to get a U.S. passport for the child. Yet, any foreigner who can make it to the Southern border can sneak across and claim assylum. Our country is dysfunctional, and it needs to change.

The fat, dumb and happy majority of American voters are largely responsible for the symptoms of the national rot described by VDH. Therefore, I don't see political fixes coming soon and without a whole lot of trouble at the neighborhood level.

Americans, according to Hanson, are "reappraising" some of their attitudes to present policies etc.. IMO, folks had also better carefully reappraise their residential locations.
