Oh the irony of an EV maker called Lucid.
“23 minutes if you live at the nearest end of Sparks, which is not a nice part of town. How about if you live up north? “
That is from central sparks. North Sparks is only about a mile (or less) further. About 21 miles, mostly interstate.
Those places out at the Telsa, Amazon, and other places east of Sparks can't keep the lower paying workers because even the $22 really means $17.60 and they cannot afford to live.
I presume the so-called top workers are skilled, they need hire pay.
Central Sparks with gunfire nearly every night. North Sparks is anything north of Disc Drive. Would you want to live anywhere within the McCarran loop in Sparks?! I sure wouldn’t.

Costco to Gigafactory 23 miles. Mostly interstate. Definitely not an hour drive.
I-80 has an 80 mph limit. No way this is an hour drive.
Apparently it’s a low smoldering fire. But, yes, odd there’s no visible smoke.
This was a scam to begin with
A scam
I had bought the stock at about 21$ and sold close to 30$ after the stock tumbled from about 60$. I should have sold at the high but lucky I got out making some money
Stock is below 3$
Scam
Yup! Read about it the other day. 7 million or so gallons already and millions more to maybe put it out. If the hydrogen cyanide doesn’t get ya.
Obviously you don’t live in the area. The 80 MPH starts out past Lovelock. They lowered the rate between Fernley and Sparks because of the accidents. It is now 65 and has been for at least a year or two. And during ice and snow it is frequently closed, forcing the Carson City-Dayton route if the road between Reno and Carson City is open. And going that way around is 1-1/2 to 2 hours. I’ve lived here since 2014 and have traveled both routes extensively for work—we couldn’t keep people working because of the long problematic commute and low pay. That is why companies out there are always hiring, because of high turnover.
😂. North valleys are a nightmare coming and going with all the “distribution centers” and the 395 road work to Golden Valley. Problem with their plan is that 395 still reduces to two lanes at Golden Valley north bound. Derp dee der! Lucky we have alternate routes out.
And Pyramid getting reworked. Plus, they are gearing up to do roadwork on I-80 out to the USA Parkway and Tesla. That’ll add to the fun.
It's a job many try, but quickly quit. For the unskilled, there are many better paying jobs locally without the commute. Last I saw Chewy was paying in the upper 20s per hour. I heard some fast food places are paying close to $30 per hour in Reno.
“Will you last a year? Doubt it.”
I lasted over seven years with an almost 60 mile similar drive in AZ.
“I heard some fast food places are paying close to $30 per hour in Reno.”
Burger flippers don’t make $60k a year!
It was an ice-cream place actually. My son was discussing it recently. The McDonald’s on Kietzk had a $20s-something price to start per hour.
“The McDonald’s on Kietzk had a $20s-something price to start per hour.”
I see nothing above $17.50.
You are not local, so we can forgive you. :)

I stayed at Holiday Inn in Reno once ...
