JUST IN: Michael Cohen has just implicated himself, and not Donald Trump, during his latest line of questioning. While being questioned about his communication with National Enquirer boss David Pecker he says “depending on the conversation we figured it’d be best to remain confidential.”
This is why Cohen and Pecker used the app “signal.” They apparently decided this themselves and Trump had nothing to do with that. It’s obvious Cohen made a lot of decision on his own and now wants to blame Trump.
Will he be prosecuted after this? Not likely, given the fact that he signed an agreement with the prosecution.

This tape had nothing to do with book keeping.
Directed verdict? How about no verdict, a dismissal based on the prosecution failing to meet the burden of proof of guilt?
Remember, the defense has only so far cross-examined prosecution witnesses. Trump has not yet had his turn to put on a defense. There should be at least another week or two of defense calling witnesses and the prosecution cross-examining before we get to closing arguments, jury instructions, and a verdict.
If Bragg failed to meet the burden of proof tying Trump to falsely reporting records, or if Bragg failed to prove that there was another crime that was furthered by falsified records, then Merchan must dismiss the case without the defendant even having to put up a defense.
