I don't really give a $hit about Ukraine or Russia. They are both corrupt countries. I give a $hit about my country, America, which is being completely invaded by foreigners and destroyed from within. America First. The rest of the world can go pound salt. We saved Europe twice. Third time is not the charm. What's going on over there is Europe's problem, not this country's. While we were kept busy fighting the spread of communism over there, the American form of communism blossomed here, and has flourished uncontrolled ever since. Your choice. Ukraine or America. This country is not capable of, nor willing to protect American citizens here, while providing financial and military assistance to a foreign country, without destroying the economy, and depleting our own resources at home. That's already been proven.

I understand Mike Johnson's dilemma. He wants to help Ukraine. But not at the expense of the United States. Biden is ignoring our border security because it is in the interest of the Democratic Party to have millions of illegals in the country.

But Biden refuses to do something about our border.

The law forbidden elections in case of invasion was passed in 2015 after the Maidan Revolution and the Crimean Annexation. It has wide support. The Kyiv Institute of Sociology found 81% percent of Ukrainians are oppose elections during war.

A few facts about the 2014 Maidan Revolution. Viktor Yanukovych sold the management of the Ukrainian treasury to a Russian company, who then looted the entire Ukrainian government when Maidan happened. Yanukovych fled to Russia where he lives after looting Ukraine. The CIA had nothing to do with Russian's ambitions in Ukraine.

The Crimean occupation ties into this too. The medals for the liberation of Crimea were made before the Maidan revolution. Putin was going to invade Crimea regardless Yanukovych was voted or forced out of office.

For over a decade Putin has had his sights on putting Ukraine under Russian control. The Ukrainians know this better than anyone. They wrote their laws and built their military to deal with the threat they would inevitably face, while the US and Europe hoped a Russian invasion would not happen.

Before anyone gets going on this, spelling out facts one side of an issue does not want to hear is not propaganda, a badly overused word on the forum.

But in the end, because Republicans are gutless wonders, they will eventually bow to the RATS and go along to get along....and the vicious cycle continues. It's been that way for decades, and it will likely never change in the time I have left on this earth. This country should not be sending any money or weapons to any country. We have enough on our plate here, and the fact that the subject is even up for vote is ludicrous.

Helping Ukraine is to stop all $$$ and military supplies. Then they’ll have to make a peace deal and Ukrainian men won’t get slaughtered any more. That is, if any are still left alive. Huge amount of the $ and mil equipment goes...who knows where. Some of the mil stuff goes to jihadis, some to MX cartels. Money goes to pockets of corrupt Uke political and other connected people.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian men are sent to the meat grinder to die.

Funny thing is. .. Russia seems to have no difficulties having an election during this war. America held elections during the Civil War and WWII.

That’s actually true. Ukraine is under marshal law (due to war) and that automatically stops elections and suspends all kind of rights.

You are mistaking Russia for a third world country that can’t fight back. The west has had too many “wars” with weaker countries and lets not forget once you engage, China has it’s moment. You are worrying about the wrong thing and provoking Russia at the wrong time. Both Russia, China Iran and North Korea are on a wartime footing and would be likely allies in a war against the west.

And you can’t figure out what Russia has in mind when it says Alaska should be a part of Russia can you? Provoking Russia nonsense, we need to see it Russia ended and Ukraine with our help can do it. I have a hard time believing that if Ukraine defeats Russia they will be in a mind to start another war. You do not have to be a genius to see that.

China, North Korea and Iran are all going to start a war with us with Russia? Then defeating Russia would be the needed event to make the others think. We need to be proactive and deal with these people instead of being pansies.
