If I were a GOP voter in California and Garvey doesn’t make it to the run-off, I’d vote for Porter just to ruin things for Schiff.

I see Porter as much more dangerous to the country than Schiff. She has a commie agenda and has the voice of a Karen to bull that agenda through. Schiff will just be another yapping dog Senator that Kali is known for.

The white liberal power structure’s tolerance for black politicians only goes so far, even in California. They’re fine letting Barbara Lee have control over a congressional district with a majority black population, but no way will they allow her to have political power statewide and certainly not at the national level in a US Senate seat.

Schiffty deliberately focused his attacks on Garvey to elevate Garvey into the runoff, knowing that the Porter and Lee voters are much more likely to vote for him than for Garvey.

Trump was a no experience political outsider too.

IMO, that’s a plus.

Beside being a baseball great, is he personable and does he act normal? Could Tom Shillue parody him? If yes to the first question and no to the second, he has a definite edge over Schiff.

I generally agree with you, but I also think that "real" candidates stopped wanting to run at all. Since around year 2000, California Republicans stopped winning statewide races entirely, so it was always a losing proposition. It didn't matter how good the candidate was, and there were several good ones.

Larry Elder only ran in the recall race and barely did any events at all. He didn't want to debate, and was scared away from doing in-person events after one round of Antifa hassling him in Los Angeles. He talks a big game on the radio, but couldn't walk the walk. Losing that race was his own fault.

I can confirm this. I received a large, full-color (seemingly) pro-Garvey flyer in my mailbox, and it showed “Paid for by Adam Schiff for Senate” in very small print at the bottom. Pencilneck Schiff is trying to stop Katie Porter from making it past Super Tuesday.

I don’t want experience. Experience is a code word for “swamp endorsement.”

Both Oz and Walker were far preferable to Fetterman Massacre and the Warlock.

Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff and Republican Steve Garvey will advance to the general election in the hotly contested California Senate race, NBC News projects.

Schiff, who led in many polls in the run-up to the contest, has sought to lock out Porter by running ads elevating Garvey in the hope that he will be his opponent in the fall. Democrats are favored to win the general election in the solidly blue state.

Update...

Here’s a question: Why does Deep State need to steal a blue state’s elections...? 🤔

Guess they ain’t so blue after all. They didn’t start out as blue; and their “imports” might not agree with their politics to boot.
