horse meet barn ? Barn people to corral horse all gone.
Since “Big Pharma” orchestrated passage of “The Pure Food and Drug Act” of 1906 to benefit themselves and the - predominantly progressive - congressional members and progressive president, Teddy Roosevelt bought off in the process- they bought off, the eventual passage - by yet another progressive president, Richard M. Nixon - of the E.O. creating the DEA “the drug problem” has gotten worse, as have the police state actions of the alphabet agencies enforcing “drug laws,” the cartels, border incursions, etc.
The one solution not openly discussed, nor considered by “experts” is a simple one, what used to work, and that is to decriminalize the use of ALL “controlled” drugs.
We actually have an example of where this WORKED and that is the repeal of the socialist/progressive-invoked Volstead Act whereby government made enormous profits off the taxation of alcohol rather than spend more money in an endless downward spiral in attempting to control its - untaxed - production, distribution and use.
This DID, however, create an ARMY division’s worth of civil-rights destroying federal corruptocrats in the development of the ATF, FDA, DEA, FBI, etc.
A simple solution is rarely proposed and acted upon by “the experts.”
“THE” solution?
Legalize it. All of it. Let the bodies hit the floor. One hundred thousand fentanyl-associated suicides (play Russian roulette and it’s intentional, not accidental) annually is already a tragedy, let the Darwinian exercise play out, shut down the DEA, tax “drugs” if you must, but I suggest the annual death toll will plummet to single-digit percentages of what we already experience.
190% is a big number designed to emotionalize a small number. OD’s didnt even triple. thats good news on both fronts, useless fools are offing themselves at a slower rate than expected, +legalizing drugs has lead the less arrests. /s?.
Don’t end it until the purge is complete. Anyone stupid enough to use that stuff with what is known now is likely part of the problem.
Tards be Tarding cause that is what Tards do.
Didn’t The Netherlands learn this tragic lesson decades ago?
Liberals are self-hating humans.
I’d like to know where in that pesky constitution thingie that the fed or the state has power to regulate what goes into our bodies
Leave the liberal Oregoners alone and let them eat their own. Oregon is a good proving ground for liberals.
Every time this happens, as it did with the border and every other stupid idea the Democrats have... WHAT DID THEY THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN?
You have hit the nail on the head.
To get off subject a little bit, i’m a diabetic.
Why do I need a new prescription every 3 months to purchase insulin?
Where in that pesky constitution thingie does the fed have the right to regulate this?
This is just one of hundreds of questions of this type that need to be answered.
Oregon just doesnt have the patience to see this work. There is always a spike in usage when things are made un-illegal. After a while the usage drops back down to normal range. They shoulda stuck it out a lil longer! Their hope of a true utopia are dashed again by their own stupidity.
This will cause the ChiComs and Cartels to reconsider their political campaign donations.
I was on the losing side when I opposed the trade deals with China. The free traitors won, China got permanent MFN, and now look at what's happened to our country. I expect to be on the losing side of this debate as well, and we'll see what good this WOD does for our country.
As a physician (since 1992), I was perpetually in conflict with my colleagues who INSISTED on having their patients come into clinic quarterly, often MONTHLY, for blood pressure, blood sugar or other “monitoring” years and years after the diagnosis and treatment had begun.
I called this insurance scamming at best, fear at worst, with an unhealthy dose of not allowing patients the option to OWN their own conditions.
It’s not MY blood pressure, stroke, MI, kidney failure, neuropathy, retinopathy, encephalopathy I’m worried about, no, but they aren’t MY conditions, are they?
The sooner I can impress upon the patients who CAN “manage their meds and conditions” the sequelae of ignoring their ownership of their conditions and THEIR responsibility to manage said conditions effectively, the sooner I can begin prescribing 3 months of meds, 3 months with a refill, then, eventually, 3 months with 3 refills (limited by DoD and/or third party prescription plans).
I practiced for over 30 years clinically and - so far - have NEVER been named in a malpractice suit of any kind. My colleagues? Pfft...
What’s funny is, there are innumerable folks out there who are seeing kitchen table herbalists, homeopaths, acupuncturists, chiropracters, “alternate therapy” treatment centers for all manner of conditions receiving untested, NON-FDA-approved or NIH trial reviewed “supplements” and those folks never seem to get sued en-masse like the regular docs.
Probably ‘cause without 3d party insurance/licensing/malpractice insurance, for the blood-sucking leeches in our society (ahem, Liars... darn it, LAWYERS), there are no “deep pockets” to delve into in those circles.
I recently came across an article reviewing a peer-reviewed study showing OREOS are more effective in reducing LDL cholesterol than statins. My colleagues won’t even read the article much less discuss it. You know, ‘cause STATINS are [mythological] “standard of care” so long as PHARMA is pushing them on unsuspecting people.
It’s a mess, it really is.
I’m about two years away from being a gentleman farmer and giving up my licenses in several states. But the $$ I make from consulting pays my mortgage right now, it’s too good to give up.
Oregon is like a lot of states. Three cities control the entire state. Just like nearly every blue state.
I take zero meds. But take vitamins and supplements. Most via “bulk” powders, not capsule or tablets/ For me Docs are good for authorizing blood work and explaining it to me
Normal blood pressure used to be considered as 140/90.
And now even 120/80 is considered to be hypertension.
It couldn’t possibly be to get more people hooked on pills, right?
TOO STUPID
TOO LITTLE
TOO LATE
