YouTube us more entertaining than network TV these days
We’ve been watching old episodes of The Sopranos - the older folks like the new channel that shows old Westerns.
Most of the new stuff coming out is unwatchable.
yep, King of Queens, Raymond, Seinfeld, Friends, Emergency, Columbo, Gun Smoke and basically anything other than what hollywood craps out.
I recently started watching MASH from the beginning, and am about half way through the series, far surpasses anything hollywood has put out in many years.
Every time you watch a Hollywood Production of ANYTHING, you are directly contributing to the Downfall of America because they almost exclusively are all Communists hell bent on destroying this country and YOU!!!
Agreed. I’m still looking up shows I didn’t watch in my younger days when I was in college taking 2 to 3 courses per quarter while working full time. New shows preaching at me for being too white remind me too much of the few liberal arts “core” courses I hated but had to take while getting a BS in computer science.
I’d rather watch KDramas.
We do not have “television”. Anything we watch is streaming from a computer. Documentaries, old TV shows, and political podcasts is pretty much it.
From what I can tell though, old episodes of Dragnet and Columbo are better than what is on TV these days.
We watch old movies, no WOKE/CRT.
Same is happening with music.
I talked with some college students, and they told me, most students listen to 80s alternative music.
Really not much new that interests me or I'm not aware of it. I don't care either way.
Cancelled cable years ago, cancelled disney, netflix, youtubeTV etc.
I liked Suits.
But then I would probably watch LA Law and Miami Vice too.
Yes I watch more YouTube than anything else. I’m getting ready to dump Amazon prime video because they started running ads and I’m not paying $14.99 per month to watch ads. Most of the movies are junk. I dumped Netflix 6 mos ago. I’d rather read books so I’m going to join Kindle unlimited.
Two sides of the same coin. Hollywood has run out of new ideas. So it’s either watch the old stuff, or watch remakes of the old stuff made woke and “diverse,” or watch the game shows that have taken over broadcast TV. You could also turn off the TV entirely and watch what the internet provides or just read a book.
I binge watched the Sopranos a few months ago—there are a lot of subtleties that are hard to get the first time around...
brilliant show with a stunning truly original ending still hotly debated on the web to this day.
Those who saw the last episode when it first aired had an epic experience.
I can continue that discussion in private (to avoid spoilers) if any are interested.
Put me in this category too. Lately I’ve been binging on “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” and “The Outer Limits” on YT. Great stories and acting. Today’s TV shows make me cringe or roll my eyes at how bad they are. Unwatchable.
I prefer to watch the original Perry Mason series on METV.

I agree. Lots of free history documentaries (unlike the History Channel), great travel shows (unlike the Travel Channel), lots of free music (unlike MTV), and lots of news (unlike any major network).
