I imagine Biden is increasing sales of new gas vehicles. Get em while you still can.

” . . . agency was committed to finalizing a tailpipe standard that is “readily achievable, secures reductions in dangerous air and climate pollution and ensures economic benefits for families.”

Every part of that statement is a lie.

“Readily achievable” - only achievable if EV sales greatly outnumber ICE sales

“Reduction in dangerous air and climate pollution” - actual pollutants (like CO and nitrogen oxides) are now controlled to levels trivial compared to those of cars in the last century; “climate pollution” by CO2 is an unproven hypothesis with minimal practical consequences even if partially relevant. And any reductions in CO2 will be offset by an order of magnitude by coal-fired power plants in China and India - go sell your climate hysteria there, EPA.

“Economic benefits for families” - total and complete horse manure; forcing ordinary Americans into EV’s will increase purchase prices, increase their insurance rates, make even trivial repairs more expensive, tank resale values, increase the frequency of tire replacements, beat up the road infrastructure more rapidly, among other things.

If this crap is put into effect, have your kids consider a career in ICE auto repair and maintenance - it won’t be long before the streets in the States look like downtown Havana, dominated by cars many decades old, kept in service as a last resort.

The real climate crisis will occur when the unsold EVs pile up on dealers lots and spontaneously burst into flames ... millions upon millions of burning EVs will cause a climate disaster.

In order to keep us under control, they will need to install Soviet-style oppression.

Otherwise, there will a revolution.

Time to find a good late model ICE vehicle before the prices get any more crazy. And be sure to get one with room to conceal an AR-15 or two. Those should also be on your shopping list. The current prices are reasonable but that won’t last much longer. Remember to pay with cash.

I can see US roads will be like Cuba with decades old ICE cars, kept running because there are no suitable replacements. Has anyone in the Biden Administration thought of farm vehicles? Modern agriculture runs on diesel powered machinery and there aren’t even prototypes of electric tractors or combines. Apparently in the green utopia mass starvation will be the norm.

It is unconstitutional for the executive branch to have these kinds of power. It is even unconstitutional for congress to pass off law making to the executive departments. And it is unconstitutional for the USSC to rule otherwise. The constitution is set up to ensure that the people who make the laws are representative voted for by the people. This throws mud all over that.

So, the recent statement about slowing the push for sales of EVs over ICE vehicles was just a bit of damage control to un-ruffle some UAW feathers. As per usual, they’re talking out of both sides of their mouths.

This diktat is not about long term public acceptance of EV’s. It is intended to disrupt a major segment of the US economy. It might be the final straw to break the back of and the entire US economy.
