The bystander deserves a medal for his heroic actions.
Good item.
Also—
People have been found to psychologically fear and obey an assailant holding a knife more than one holding a gun.
One reason posited is humans have been cut before but have not been shot, as a rule. (Didn’t survey Chicago, SF, LA or NYC residents probably.)
He’ll probably get a lawsuit instead, and maybe jailed, lose his job, etc.
I'm no expert, but we go through Less than Lethal/Self-defense training every six months.
We ran that drill, and the instructor who was MUCH better versed than I was, and took a unwarned knife charge at me from 22 feet (I believe) and I was able to shoot him three times out of three.
Granted, although I didn't know exactly when he was going to start, it didn't come out of the blue, so take that for what it's worth.
Still, in practical matters, I'd rather face a gun than a knife if I was unarmed.
Thanks.
At fifty yards I’d prefer to face a knife
Maybe it’s just me
In my cell on the tier
It’s a toss up
Depends on the talents of my opponent and his precise weapon
Jim Bowie with his namesake or Cole Younger versus anything under a 9mm
I’m taking facing the firearm
Knives if plunged have a wide cut path
Knick the pulmonary or aortic or trunk or renal or liver arteries and you’re in trouble even in the trauma gurney in the emergency room
Alice Baker who were very good with rudimentary knives or shanks in their 70s-2000s halcyon days usually if possible preferred to penetrate that Titus Pullo on Cicero sweet spot triangle tween neck and collarbone
Lots of really tasty arteries and vessels down in there pretty exposed that bleed like a garden hose
Oh yes RIP the poor young officer
That was lapse of me
His family is suffering due to a madman
I have read a long time ago that significant number of murders are committed by hands and legs only. (kicks, punches, etc.).
Maybe we should amputate all hands and legs of all people!
That can save some lives!
21 feet is not That far...
Rest In Peace Officer.
