We agreed to the neutrality of Ukraine in exchange for its independence. A single soldier in violation is in violation and nullifies the agreement. We’ve been encircling that area of the world with our military assets well before this. Would you accept Russia or China piling their military assets just off the cost in the international waters?

NATO before the invasion was an alliance in decline. A few former Soviet bloc members joined precisely because Russia had begun mugging its neighbors one by one.
NATO presented a non-existent offensive threat: ex-bloc countries invited in NATO troops to provide a defensive trigger. Boots on the ground were numbered in scant battalions.

You posted a link to an article about the days just before Russia launched the biggest European War since WWII, of course some level of heightened alert is going to take place in the countries under threat.
Personally, I was thrilled to see the aggressive build-up of America’s NATO capabilities in Europe under President Trump, I had been very concerned by Obama’s weakening of NATO and our capability against the Russian threat.
A single troop or plane or ship is enough to nullify the agreement. Get that through your mind. We tested for its resolve went to war. That’s why you keep agreements. I fully and 100% blame our Western leaders for the war in Russia. We had an agreement and we decided to send thousands of troops just to see what Russia would do.
It’s our fault. 100% our fault. Jesus is no longer the measure that the West can use for our actions. Russia told us to keep Ukraine neutral and we tried to take it away. Every death in this war can be traced to the unseriousness of the west and it’s doubling back on its agreements.
NATO has long said that they intend to make the Ukraine part of NATO. What do you expect Russia to do?
NATO had no intentions of honouring its agreement with Russia over Ukraine and Russia knew this.

There was no longer an agreement when we decided to violate the agreement. That’s how agreements work. When we don’t keep our end, it ends.
