“If I go there will be trouble, and if I stay it will be double.”
She was a definitely a squish during her first term but there’s some evidence that she’s moved to the right during her current term.
The clear favorite to replace her in this solidly (R+11) Republican district was state Rep. Chuck Goodrich. Goodrich is more conservative than Spartz and is pro-life, pro-gun, etc.
The fact that her replacement would be a notch or two to Spartz’ right may be the reason that she and her handlers in the GOP establishment begged her to reconsider retirement.
Goodrich has enough money to give Spartz a good run in the primary, but the GOPe will ensure that she has all the funding she needs — and more.
She’s obviously mad that Ukraine “aid” is being torpedoed by Johnson.
