It’s more like
“Power to the people. We need to quit all this”
“Yes but it means less grant money for your non-profits”
“F the people. I want my grant money”.

Illinois might be a state that you should not be in.

What if an illegal alien with no license is caught speeding-side-swiping parked cars?

Another pro-criminal Chicago mentally ill Democrat. He wants criminals to get away with crimes that could endanger both the police and the common citizen. Who elected this lunatic and why?

If they would legalize guns, drugs and murder they would have a low crime rate.

Similar to what is happening in WA state. I love it, because I haven’t purchased tabs in two years. Saving me some money. They literally cannot pull you over for anything short of a felony. Driving the wrong way on the freeway, if they witness them stealing a vehicle they will enforce laws. Tabs and speeding at under reckless speeds, let them slide.

WA will change its mind when it realizes it is losing revenue.

That’s why it is so laughable that this idiot Chicago Dem introduced this: Illinois LOVES the revenue it gets from scofflaws.

I don’t necessarily agree with this one

“Slaughter’s legislation also states that any evidence of criminal wrongdoing discovered during a prohibited traffic stop cannot be used “in any trial, hearing, or other proceeding.” The evidence could not be used even if the driver permitted police to search their vehicle under Slaughter’s proposal.”

but all the rest I agree 100%
Until it is criminal, cops should not be screwing with people.
Civil infractions that make cops and municipalities money are BS!

We have traffic laws to at least try and keep the traffic flowing in a reasonable manner.

True enough, but most of the "crimes" mentioned are just excuses by feral local governments to raise money.

That is why the state will very likely not be willing to eliminate criminal charges associated with the none payment of same.
