Hey LeVar Burton isn’t it funny how your ancestor was so sure he had the moral high ground only to be proven so wrong. It might remind you of someone close to you.
At this point, unlike the past, the descendants of slaves should be THANKING their ancestors for the sacrifice of enduring their enslavement by other AFRICANS and being a CITIZEN of the USA in 2024.
You hit the jackpot. You are not oppressed. You have opportunity. You have a standard of living greater than almost all that have ever lived, anywhere.
Yet you’ve been convinced I OWE YOU SOMETING...even though I’m an immigrant and naturalized citizen too.
It seems to me, today’s blacks are the very definition of “privilege that doesn’t know it”...aka ‘spoiled’.
My grandfather was a Yankee. I demand restitution!

He said he was upset because it meant “he (himself) was not who he was always told he was”.
I argued that he was was who he had made of himself, not who his biological father was.
In my study of first hand accounts of the USCW I never read anything where a Confederate soldier said he was defendng slavery. Such BS

I never watched a minute of that Roots bs. And I was a liberal back then. It looked like mass brain washing and hype to me
I’d like him to have to watch Thomas Sowell’s history of slavery and the slave trade - complete from what started it and ended it - and he can see that his “Roots” movie was a false narrative - and see how he reacts to that.
