We live in a fallen, stupid, stupid world.

Not for long, say the gods of the copybook headings.

A manager has to insist that an engineer or skilled manufacturing employee do a bad job and push trash out the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hmmmmmm, A case of history repeating itself.....There are some elements of what has gone on with the Max that have shades of what caused the Space Shuttle Challenger catastrophe… while the specific cause was the failure of the O-ring seals for one of the solid rocket boosters, the real cause was the culture of NASA that allowed the engineers’ warnings about cold weather launch to be overruled.
The comments are about the 737 max flight simulator and it’s training procedures, not the max itself.
Not all facts are known yet, but it looks like this blunder is due to poor training, poor craftsmanship, poor inspection and poor management on the shop floor.
And Covid. You don't lay off half your workforce and then expect the remaining employees and new ones to crank out record levels of production in the next couple of years when things get better.
“Bolts not being accessible are a design flaw, which I mentioned.”
Accessible to who? Last time I was on a plane, virtually no bolts were accessible to me. Now if I removed interior panels (and somehow didn’t get arrested), I might find lots of bolts.
