At that rate she could be president of a university some day.
So the whole hit piece is a big whataboutism.
A lot of people do it, including news media reporters who state their news reports as "exclusive, only on channel ...".
Even I was guilty of it back in high school, when I was pressed for time on a lengthy history report I needed to turn in. I stuck some of my French language reports in the middle of my history report. I got an A, which was puzzling because the French section had nothing to do with the history report written in English. Never did that again, but it showed that reports are not necessarily checked beyond the first couple of pages. At least I never did it in a paying job.

I had to keep a journal in some useless philosophy course in college. I wrote five pages and then repeated them over and over again, word for word. I got an A. But this was not plagiarism because I was stealing my own lazy work.

Unlike Gay, Oxman apologized that out of 100’s of publications she made one or two citation format mistakes (though in all cases there was attribution — just a missing quote or incorrectly formatted citation)

The dirty secret about much of academic “original intellectual content’ is that plagarism is rampant.
A full investigation of everyone for plagiarism will be mutually assured destruction.
