McCain picked Palin and it was downhill after that. In 2012 Romney gave up 3-6 weeks before the election. I think that election was stolen, he just didn't fight it. Recall that they stopped polling, didn't do exit polls, etc. So there was no disconnect between what we saw and the results. Jeb?! He was a non-starter from day one.

DeSantis is MAGA without the drama and baggage. He's more disciplined that Trump. Consider folks here on FR, they have repeatedly supported DeSantis for 2028, just object to him challenging Trump in 2024. Bottom line is that many just want to annoint Trump and run an in-your-face campaign without concern that it is a losing campaign. We need a winner in 2024.

I used to be a precinct chief in Virginia for about 10 years, write in votes might feel good, but do not count. If he doesn’t make it through the primary process I hope a natural born citizen citizen does.

Honestly I’m not happy with any of the choices. But I also know that life is not perfect. Hopefully we can move the ball in the right direction even if it’s not very far.
