I think Romney lost to Obama in 2012 through cheating. Lots of urban precincts with 150% turnout.

They thought they were going to have Hillary win the same way in 2016, but they misunderstood Trumps appeal with voters and there were plenty of moderate blue collar Dems who voted for him. They were not ready for the amount of cheating necessary in 2016.
They didn’t hold any punches in 2020.
