In one city when BLM was “peacefully demonstrating” a few LEOs actually defied orders and pepper sprayed quite a number of these peaceful people. BEST PART, a few members of city council, yes they are POC, were also sprayed. Can you guess who bitched the loudest about getting sprayed. The case disappeared very fast. Don’t recall what result was other than city council got what they deserved

Street v. New York, 394 U.S. 576 (1969) really got the ball rolling regarding judicial looks at flag burning and that culminated in Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989), which held that flag burning was protected speech.
Flag burning to cause incitement to violence would not be protected speech. The next question would be “what actions regarding flag burning would constitute incitement to violance?
