I don’t think we’re in Ezekiel 38 because Israel is not currently a people of “unwalled villages,” “dwelling securely,” and “having no bars or gates.”
This is God speaking, through Ezekiel, to the enemies of Israel. It may be that AFTER this war, Israel may enter some sort of treaty with their neighbors which may lead to an era of peace before they’re attacked again.

It’s not a stunt. It has to be paid for. Where should the money from? Considering they ran on getting rid of 87k IRS agents this is pretty spot on.
