Time to start saving your slightly used CO2, for later reuse!
Maybe an associated use for the mercaptans?

And just where do they get the energy to do this? First law says they need energy to do it. Second law says they won’t get as much energy out of it as they put in. Kind of like batteries. Takes more energy to charge them than you can get out. And for both processes the more intermediate steps the less energy you get out for what you put in.

It cannot be emissions free because unless all of the precursors and energy needed are “emissions free”. No such thing.

A. how much is the energy cost to obtain/manufacture/store bulk CO2?
B. what is the energy cost to convert said CO2 into formate?

The greenweenies want to pull CO2 out of the atmosphere and pump it under ground. How do they intend on pulling CO2 out of the atmosphere? Seems to me it’s another government grant scheme.

Only needs massive government funding.
I worked on methanol fuel cells. Basically useless anywhere cold or too hot.

1. Get carbon dioxide.
2. ????????
3. Profit!

First you have to trap very significant amounts of the CO2, which I understand is not an inexpensive operation.
