There is no need for transmission lines. Power can just be provided remotely via satellite or something. Just Zoom it in! All we need to do is install more electrical outlets and those can be easily installed at gas stations and other such places.

Oh, otay! Sounds like a plan. Fidiots!
Green energy people are not living in the Real world
Exactly. With all those damned windmills, there’s no place to run powerlines. LOL.
They know it’s impossible. That’s the point.
Lets hire crooks to steal all the wiring and all the metal from high crime areas. They won’t get in trouble because they are stealing in liberal enclaves that encourage such behavior. If they get caught they can say they were protesting the use of fossil fuels or energy or for trans-cats or something.
We will use the metal and wires to build electrified fences around those areas to keep them quarantined until 100 years after they come to their senses.
This will reduce the demand on the electrical grid. And we can use the wiring and metal for expansion of the electrical grid in the blue areas.
So for this reason ALONE the fed will demand that you install solar/wind devices on YOUR PROPERTY to support your EV’s and ELECTRIC appliances.
Not only the copper lines are needed, but so many transformers, telephone poles, Insulators. And all the energy to create said infrastructure.
No need for long power lines, just put a heavy duty Diesel generator in every EV garage.
There is no need for transmission lines.
Tesla winks
And no one thought about that ahead of time?
Reality dawns. How annoying.
They are trying to sign up landowners around here for solar farms. The biggest factor is proximity to existing electrical substations, so I don’t quite follow the need for all new lines.
Wind and solar provide energy intermittently, according to when the wind is blowing or the sun is shining, which may or may not align with demand.
Solar production, for example, diminishes in the evening when demand starts to climb, which is why the operators of the Texas grid this summer requested people conserve during those hours. Wind energy typically fails at the same time.โ
That is why solar and wind should NEVER EVER be in a firm supply portfolio.
Besides the transmission and distribution grid upgrades needed, no one is talking about a crash program to build generation capacity. And wind and solar aren’t going to cut it, we need nuclear plants.
I think the long term plan is not to make more cars and power supply, but to make fewer people.
Nope, unlike digital, electrons arenโt compressible.
For perspective the moon is only 250k miles away at its farthest.
The title is wrong.
It is not a matter of whether or not the additions to the grid for “green energy” are “possible”, or “impossible.
They are UNNECESSARY.
The ONLY places wind or solar are financially efficient is in single use situations, not in serving the grid. They are both expensive sources for the grid, and requiring the grid to use them merely raises the costs for everyone on the grid.
If you can run your own home of business with wind or solar and without the grid, that’s fine. But that is the end of it in terms of anything that is “necessary”.
