May they all get boils. May frogs invade their homes. May wasps build nests under all their eaves. May all their water pipes emit water that smells of sulpher.

If the conference does not unite, you will have a Dem speaker...simple as that.

So in this phrasing where does Mr. Gaetz fall - He is part of the Republican conference.

Not sure where on the spectrum you fall - gopE or limited G'ment.

Taxpayers?

Really?

Lets be honest here, you think the overwhelming majority of taxpayers wanted McCarthy removed to begin with???

I am no fan of McCarthy, but make no mistake there never was some huge groundswell out in America to vote out the speaker.

This is purely the move of 8 people, colluding with Democrats on their own accord.. this wasn’t initiated by some grass roots movement.

I won’t argue our government is corrupt and owned by large corporations and donors, but don’t think for one second that any of this happened because taxpayers wanted it.

This is purely a self inflicted wound created by a bunch of clowns.

Nope

See we win here. Government is shut down until the clown show wing of the GOP realizes that. So if the GOP-E want to go on a political kamikaze mission, there no reason we should stop them

At minimum, the GOP caucus has to quit bringing these votes for speaker or speaker pro-tem to the floor. They need to meet alone in caucus and not bring a vote to the floor until they’ve already decided how they are all going to vote and that they have a majority for one person.

These constant floor votes shows they are not a party, just House members wearing the same party label.

>>Fitzpatrick, Brian (PA) 26%

How is anyone with a 26% conservative rating in the GOP to begin with?

We have crossed the RUBICON then Mr. Trump was indicted
No Fake news ever reporting on the large numbers of Americans who support Mr. Trump and are/were outraged at this Stalinist pogrom.

I am grateful for Mr. Gaetz having the cahones to speak up for us, the "little" people.

what was that saying back in the 70s' - Speaking truth to power - something like that

Doing the same thing over and over and over and expecting different results is the text book definition of insanity

Here is how the game has been played in DC for over 2 decades now.. The US House GOP is told “oh you have to only pass bills that the Senate will vote for and the White House will sign”.

The result is the House GOP consistently passes hard Left Democrats Legislation to “get things done”. The Democrat get all the political benefits while the GOP gets all the blame from the voters. This game has got to stop being played by the GOP. This is a chance to do that.

This is a chance for the GOP to start actively using the power of the US House to say “You want something done Senate? You want something done White House? Here is what we passed. Either vote for it or reject it. We have done our job.”

ChipRoy put forward a rules change to do exactly that. The GOP-E wing voted it down.

The vote was 99 for and 123 against

The biggest folly of our government and people is the Rat concept (everyone goes along with it) that the 'work' of Congress is to pass spending bill after spending bill.

Right now their 'work' should be to rescind bill after bill and dismantle program after program, ultimately balancing the budget and paying off the debt.

Also, closing the border with (already funded DOD personnel would be nice, too.

When you say government is 'shut down' as if it is a bad thing you are just playing into the Rats' hands.

A big part of Gaetz's work in the past two weeks is to get this idea front and center in people's minds.

“””McCarthy’s fault as well for going along with the ridiculous notion (in order to secure his election) that any member of the conference could, at any time, launch a motion to vacate the chair. That was not a good idea, under any circumstances. And now here we are in this hot mess.””””

It is my recollection that ONE member could file a motion to vacate until Nancy Pelosi changed that House Rule. McCarthy only agreed to revert to what the rule had been prior to Pelosi.

As per recent news , Gaetz is feeling the heat and is willing to expelled from the conference or censured. Guess that he knows that he is hurting Jordan’s bid to speaker.
