They weren’t hung out to dry, they were sent there.
Lord, please protect these brave souls as they put their lives on the line.
....we are so overextended....The US is deeply in debt. We don’t have a pot of funds set aside for these foreign entanglement; we must yet again borrow money for this latest adventure. The long-gone Roman Empire tried this sort of thing, and fell in spectacular fashion. There is a good chance we will outdo even them.......

The powerful Israeli lobby made sure Congress is required by law to ensure that U.S. military aid in the Middle East region doesn’t damage Israel’s military superiority over its neighbors. That requirement enjoys broad bipartisan support and has served as a benchmark for ensuring Israel receives robust U.S. support.
Since 1973, Israel has received more than $120 billion tax
dollars in military assistance, including “three special aid” packages.
<><>taxpayers paying Israel billions for signing the Israel-Egypt peace treaty
<><>taxpayers paying billions for Israel’s withdrawal from the Sinai.
<><>taxpayers paying billions for redeployment of Israeli forces
Rebuilding Israeli air bases in the Negev cost taxpayers another $5 billion.
There is always a MEU cruising in the Mediterranean. One always in the Caribbean as well. I was in the Marine Corps in the early 1960’s. The MEU’s had two names, the Med Cruise and the Caribbean Cruise. Med Cruise is a six month rotation. Caribbean a three month rotation. When a cruise time is up there is another on sent to relieve them.
I was on two different Caribbean Cruises. The Marines are always on station. This is simply a shift in the location of the ships in the Med, nothing out of the ordinary. You can bet my Marine Corps are ready to go.
World War III just in time for the 2024 election? /shiny side out
Good thing Joe didn’t give Iran a ton of money. What?
It was on / off / on / off. Don’t know what the current status is.
Of course the Tripoli in the Marine Corps hymn is a different one.
