Columbia University approves of spitting on dead rape victims.

Why would they. The trustees of Columbia (and indeed all the Ivies) are 100% on board. It is typical of a particular ruling class faction. Also includes a number of Jews, the left wing being a suicide cult.

When Hitler went after the communists many immigrated to the US. Many professors ended up working at Columbia University. As the tree is bent, so goes the organization. Mixed metaphor, I know. To undo the damage you’d have to eliminate the university. Probably the professors would decamp to other schools.

Well, in a sense, it's true, although it's unlikely that this jackass meant it in the spirit of the original meaning of the word, as listed here:

Adjective: extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension, or fear. "the awesome power of the atomic bomb"

It's more likely that he meant it in a more modern context, like "COOL!!! This is GREAT!!!"

We live in a sick world.

Colombia is a private university. It can be as stupid as its trustees & alumni allow it to be. No one has to go there!

No private university can promote or incite terrorism. Those doing so are criminals and can and should be prosecuted for sponsoring and promoting savage terrorism.

Arrest the SOB and put him in prison where he belongs. This is not “free speech.” This is a crime.

And here I thought the Left was all into “hate” speech. But now we learn some hate speech is allowable, if it emanates from the Left.

If promote means fund harbor & do terrorism, then yes you are right. The if it’s just idiotic statements done by employees of the institution then it’s the institutions problem.

You don’t have free speech unless it’s free. You want the left deciding what you can say? They’re trying to do that don’t make it easier!

And no one has to hire graduates from that institution either.

Agree!
They have right to produce an inferior product as long as the trustees, alumni say it ok & the endowment holds out.

Also, FedGov should be allowed to deny student loans there, not wanting to subsidize the production of such inferior products.

You don’t have free speech unless it’s free.

We do not have free speech now. The leftists decide what we can say, and they get us fired or shunned if we say something they do not approve of. Or at least they try.

Tit-for-Tat is the appropriate response for this game.

This professor should be fired. This university should be closed down.

We can get back to that "freedom of speech" thing when there is a more even balance in the public forums, and government stops using large corporations as speech police.

I didn’t say we did have “free speech “. We have a lot of “controlled speech” now. That doesn’t mean I approve. If we use the government to “control” for speech we like it will be turned against us, like it’s happening now!

If I owned Colombia U the prof would be fired, but I don’t. I do not advocate and no conservative should advocate the seizing of property to enforce speech or anything else. It’s Colombia’s problem. It makes their products/students less attractive so by by their poor choices both are hurt!

Solution: Don’t hire their graduates, don’t go there, don’t donate and give them no respect!

I do not advocate, and no conservative should advocate the seizing of property to enforce speech or anything else. It’s Colombia’s problem.

You are a voice of reason and moderation, compared to my rather extreme proposal. I like your ideas better than mine.

But I am still angry that Jack Phillips's rights "free speech" has been cancelled and he has been effectively bankrupted by government actions because he refused to approve demands from Gay Rights activists to bake a cake for them.

Those same activists would have never dared target a Muslim bakery in which to assert their "rights" of accommodation and "free speech". They would have been assassinated if they had done so.

The Columbia professor praising Hamas terrorists is unacceptable. His endorsement of lawlessness, while presuming the protection of laws and the right of free speech for himself is unacceptable.

It is a reasonable question to debate: "What should we do about that?".

I want to see such institutions dismantled and their spokesmen cast out of public life. They have already done and continue to do a lot of harm. I am not going to defend their "rights". They certainly aren't defending mine.

Just a modest proposal. There might be lesser means available to solve the problem. I certainly will not be hiring any Columbia graduates.
