Do you really think that the House has any power over the Executive Branch when it comes to military actions? Please educate me when this power was exercised in the past 50 years.
Thanks for saving me the effort to have to post that little factoid. The House only controls 1/3 of the govt. Its got nothing to do with the Israeli operation.
This Speakership change to a conservative that somehow miraculously seems to be on the cusp of happening is for some other reason. There is no way this is happening organically. Its being likely orchestrated by Trump To place Jim Jordan in a position to be A player in coming events that have not yet unfolded. The fact that Jordan is only 20 votes short is miraculous.

I’m not sure. Can’t they withhold funding?
They can but funding takes months and months and the Executive Branch/Pentagon can fund what they deem necessary I.e. Transgender Pronoun videos.
Not if they are using previously appropriated DoD money. That how the Brandon misadministration funded its Ukraine weapons scam at first
You mean you don’t remember who was the Speaker during WWII? Beats the hell out of me, too! lol
The Tight Ass Twenty have had their voices heard, and now it’s time to get in line. They’re likely to get primaried if they persist, so be it.
Agree. Buck is already getting a challenge.
America entered WW2 82 years ago.
That is why I chose 50 years and not 82 years.
Heck, I don’t remember who the Speaker was 50 years ago, either...lol.
Well, that was sort of my point. The Speaker has little power over military actions. If they did, we would remember who said what when. ;)
FYI, Sam Rayburn was Speaker Dec 7, 1941. I remember hearing about FDR and his famous speech. Never heard anything about Rayburn.
Possibly a case of “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss”.
