Portland and the surrounding area is just gorgeous. Flying high over the area and seeing the mountain tops peek through the clouds is one of my favorite things. The vineyards, the trees, the winding roads, the river, the fruit trees in fall, that whole area is just a little bit of heaven that is totally ruined. It must be hard to see when its your home.
Why do the leftist nuts get to ruin all the beautiful places? I’d love to see conservatives decide en masse to take over one of these liberal hellholes and fix it for ourselves. Just as soon as we can figure out how to fix election fraud…
Oh, my!
How could that have ever happened to such a lovely city. /s
Why would anyone take pictures of themselves getting injected with a syringe, and then post it on Face Book?
That has to be the pinnacle of virtue signaling. Wow...
Lots of weird monkeys running around nowadays.
My niece used to babysit her. They were my sisters neighbors. Very nice young girl. But, horribly uninformed.
Love it!
Well, his last name is as Swabian (southwestern Germany) as it gets. Many German last names have strong regional „undertones“ - such as young Mr. Hämmerle‘s.
Best wishes,
:-)
Still, let us hope that both that the experience they had to make in Portland will serve as a lesson to them.
They might eventually become converts to Conservatism. Wouldn’t this be a good outcome 🙂?
“virtue signaling”
A required aspect of being a modern liberal imo. You’re saving the planet! You’re crushing COVID! You’re affirming all identities! You’re welcoming all refugees!
You don’t have to ask questions. You don’t need to know why. It costs YOU nothing. ....but look how great I am!
They’re childless atheists...so they know everything. It’s as though there’s a void to be filled ;p
They still forbid self service? I laughed last time I drove to Portland from SF, that in Oregon they won't let you pump your own gas. That's so 1960's (I worked in gas stations as a teen back then, and the bosses made us do full service even if the customers protested). Laughable, grandma's like my wife handle their own pumping here in California.
Self serve gas has been legal everywhere in Oregon since August 6, 2023. Before that it had been legal for several years in some rural counties.
I know a liberal couple who sing the praises of Portland, denying the existence of crime in it after leaving there a year ago for Appalachia
If you don’t have a CCW in Oregon it is difficult to carry a gun in Portland. In Oregon you can have a loaded gun in the trunk.
In Portland you must have your gun unloaded. And any magazines you have must also be empty!
Just keepin’ the bad guys safe.
Back in the 1960’s, my bosses made me do full service on every car that came in for gas. I was to attempt lifting the hood on the engine at least three times after a car owner protested me trying to open the hood to check the oil and radiator. Otherwise I could get fired. Also had to check the air in the tires. And clean the windshield, which was a problem at one station because the boss made me carry a .32 revolver in my pants pocket and it would clunk against the fender. Yes, sometimes there were thieves out to steal, and I had to be wary at the cash box. These days you’re hard pressed to get an attendant to help with anything, easy living for them. Took Oregon long enough to get rid of an archaic rule at gas stations.
I remember the days when the attendant would check oil, clean the windshield, and all sorts of stuff. By the time I started driving in the early 70s, a lot of stations were going to “mini-serve”, which was basically just filling the gas tank. If you wanted full service, those pumps had a higher price.
I had never pumped gas before taking a job in eastern Oregon in 1974, when I was going over to Idaho fairly often. Then I moved to Arizona in 1985, and I remember returning to Oregon for a visit just a couple of years later and some pump jockey getting upset because I had automatically jumped out and started to fill up.
I agree that it was way past time to get rid of the old law.
