I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having both gas-powered and electic vehicles, if not for flexibility.

It might actually be prudent to produce tanks that are capable of being both gas and electric powered.

Talk about HANGING CURVEBALLS - just showing some cartoons of tanks being charged up at a Tesla Supercharger on their way to Ukraine to fight the Russian tanks, which are tanks that use fuel that has 15 times more energy than batteries (that being diesel fuel).

Electric is the only way! If you can’t beat them, join them. Who wants to start a business with me. We can make a full line of electric missiles; everything from electric anti-tank missiles to electric ICBMs. There has to be plenty of free government money to do this.

Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm told . . .

You'd think that would be considered a disclaimer.

I notice even Elon Musk isn’t crazy enough to try to build an electric launch vehicle though.

“claiming that the push for green energy would enhance America’s energy security”

At the expense of our national security.

“It might actually be prudent to produce tanks that are capable of being both gas and electric powered.”

Except the enemy is not going to waste tonnage on his vehicles with crap like that, so our vehicles would then be outclassed.

I can’t see much purpose in electric vehicles until we have a grid that supports them without using fossil fuels.

We do not have that nor do we have charging stations all over the place.

They should have stopped with hybrids.

How about electric airplanes? Uh, not for me.

Tanks that shoot stopper guns to prevent all that noise from nasty old explosions.
Open the Mental Hospitals back up now.

What kind of mobile charging station would be needed? It’d have to be HUGE! And what would power IT? Solar power?

And would the tank commander radio: “Gotta stop engaging with the enemy. Charge is down to 0. Send the mobile charger NOW!”

- reply: “Sorry, sir, the mobile charger is out of battery power. You’ll have to wait a few days.”

On the other hand, what happens when the enemy cuts your supply line, and you can’t get gas for your tanks? But if you can switch to reserve electric power, at least you could manage to hold out for a bit until you can get gas.

Just picture the Red Ball Express supplying the front on batteries? Imagine the legions of diesel powered charging stations set up all along the route and the fuel supply chain of electric trucks hauling diesel to run the generators.

Even more absurd, Imagine the banks of solar cells and wind turbines and battery storage banks being built and hauled to the front lines to charge the war effort.

These people are truly insane or intentionally perverse and evil with destruction their motive.

If you don't know what the Red Ball Express was, It was the endless line of trucks hauling supplies to the front lines in WWII. It as much as Patton or any other army was responsible for the German defeat.
