You are quite correct about the rats’ pincer play but I think Trump was not acting to protect his re-election as much as he was taking the hit to prevent panic & chaos in America. As so often, he took the hit for the team. I am sure he would have dearly loved to tell Fauci where to go.

Actually no, l was a big DeSantis fan. Then he took the GOPe meeting, he immediately waffled on Ukraine and it just kept getting worse culminating in him sounding like Pelosi on the 20 steal. It’s shame he was a shining star and constant proof of what having a strong conservative Governor can do for a state. It is my hope he can work his way back.

And that threat will remain with or without Trump. I have faith in DeSantis actually making inroads into it whereas Trump more-or-less shuffled it around, leaving it as strong now as before.

All that is true, but that was well before the uselessness of those actions were recognized. He consulted experts and followed their lead, not aware that they were either wrong or deliberately misleading him. Who among us would have done better?

Well Florida is the 3rd most populated state in the country and New York is 4th so it would make sense in terms of deaths they be ranked like they are
Perhaps because of the average age in Florida is much higher and infected people were not put back into nursing homes might have been a good thing
If that was before he declared for the POTUS race, then it's immaterial. No governor should be expected to answer about foreign policy issues. Once he declared for the race, I think he's been pretty consistent.
Trump is wrong on the “vaccines” but I don’t think he would have ever mandated it.
