“ But what if these “majority people-of-color” districts thus created begin voting for the Republican candidates in earnest?”
What if I am made King of the United States? What if the sun turns purple? What if schools start teaching math?
Stanley Marcus [11th Circuit], Rapin' Bill Clinton stooge, Anna M. Manasco and Terry F. Moorer, Trump judges.
Anna M. Manasco [ND Alabama], confirmed by a 71–21 vote [whole lotta "Ds" said "Yea"...
Terry F. Moorer [SD Alabama], reported out of the Senate Judiciary committee by a 17–4 vote, confirmed by voice vote.
I'd classify Manasco and Moorer as McConnell judges. Stanley Marcus is a Republican who "grew in office", and even before that [he was acceptable to Rapin' Bill and the Dems at the time].

What if the blacks who make up a quarter of the population all live within a certain area?
Black robed fascists.
I just read the text of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. It’s all about ensuring the right to vote for nonwhite citizens—no literacy tests, no poll taxes, no intimidation, etc. I didn’t see anything about guaranteeing that nonwhite citizens get the winning candidate of their choice but maybe it’s hidden in the legalese.
The article doesn’t name the judges, or even which court it was. What a surprise!
Of course they have ZERO problem though with naming the Attorney General of Alabama, and the fact he’s a Republican.
“The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.”
The Fifteenth Amendment guarantees an individual right to vote. I don’t see ANYTHING here about making contorting district lines into whatever shape or form is necessary to ensure a majority of a particular “race, color, or previous condition of servitude.”
Racism.
Calling SCOTUS…clean up in aisle 12.
