DeSantis has been the best governor I had, after living through a succession of dumb@$$es and Commies in my former state of Maryland. But in seeming contradiction, he’s a lousy Presidential candidate, and he should get out. JMO.

Then perhaps you should not tear down a viable contender for the Republican nomination. I like what trump did a lot. But currently he is a dead stick. He cannot win a general election.

So far, DeSantis has my vote too. Trump lost me years ago when he said he was for an “assault weapon ban, gays in the military, pro-abortion (NY values). He future lost me when he attacked the 2nd amendment several time during his term, never balanced a budget (huge huge huge deficits). His talk of “freedom cities” and history of promoting normalization of homosexuality/transgenders (allowing Bruce Jenner to use his restroom and inviting him to judge beauty contests that he allowed transsexuals’ in).
Trump has done nothing but make enemies and “pick the wrong folks” while hiring the swamp. He did make a difference in picking a couple of SCOTUS choices that were on the list, but made a few anti-second judge picks on the other end. He never ended Planned Parenthood funding, he never fought for controling spending (except in a few word that he couldn’t be bothered to back up, veto pen anyone?).
DeSantis ain’t perfect, he wobbled on Covid but found his feet a heck lot quicker than Trump did, heck Trump gave Fauci a freaking award. Trump never stood up the antifa, just threatened empty threats. DeSantis has stood up to the woke mob, something Trump’s NY values included as a normalicy. I want a candidate that doesn’t claim to want to shut down Planned Parenthood one week and the next debate say “PP does great things”... I don’t want promises of throwing Hillary/Biden in jail only to say “they have been through enough” days after taking office.

It’s sad that if trump loses the nomination that we get four more years of abides or two years of Kamala. At the point it comes to the general it’s who is the most electable conservative. It also strikes me that anyone who puts an individual over the country is not a patriot.
The trump or no one parade shows that one cares more for a man than the principles of liberty. That is emotional. That is the democrats. That is also dangerously close to worship.
Ironically it will finish off MAGA BECAUSE THE USSC balance will change. and a president Trumps enduring legacy will be gone. I am all for a robust primary. Whoever wins is the consensus of the party … saying one would not vote for the nominee is a shortsighted temper tantrum. Not the rational thought of someone with foresight.
The reality is Trump could have easily one by showing a he could change. He was a great president. But he is placing bombast over principles. Self over country. He has disqualified himself because of his behavior in my eyes. But the only Trump gang is Wilkie to sacrifice all people of this country on the altar of Trump worship.
Sad.
