There was an article about cutbacks in government budgets resulting in low income people getting less. “The ones who went into the dollar store for their week’s groceries who used to have $21 may now have $15.”
And they still gotta get their usual $30 worth of stuff the same!

Article at least has some good euphemisms for what the problem is:
retail theft
inventory shrink
shoplifting
daytime snatch-and-grab incident
No mention of the perps. Imagine that.

I liked being able to buy $1 cologne (then it went to $1.25)
Made a nice, cheap cologne I could keep in various places.
I’m not saying it was GOOD cologne.....
Nowadays, you absolutely cannot get it, as near as I can tell.

Start shooting them, and this problem will go away overnight. I agree. Unfortunately, since most of the thieves are black, riots and looting will ensue. Of course, if it was legal to shoot looters…problem solved.

Their goal is to destroy capitalism. Make it impossible for businesses to survive by erasing the penalties for shoplifting.

So the greater evil is the state legislatures, not the actual shoplifters who gladly fall into the communist trap.

There is a Dollar General I go in once in a while to get a
gal of ice cream and/or a bag of ice. Most of the time there
aren’t any in customers in the store. One employee and they
are doing other task and come to the pay counter when you
want to check out.

I wish I could say you’re incorrect.
Maybe to force a 666 checkout system and the Antichrist’s New World Order of Daniel 7:23?
Because it makes no sense on any logical level to let the thieves run wild.
