If this happened in georgia, ehy is it in a washington dc court?
Hi! Good question, because jurisdictional issues are complicated. There are two different questions here, one is why this is in federal (as opposed to state) court. The plaintiff was able to argue that the case should be in federal court because the value of the case is more than $70,000 and because the plaintiff and defendant live in different states. As for why federal court in DC, that’s a little more tenuous. The plaintiff argues that Rudy is a DC lawyer who committed the defamation while he was in DC (at least partly) for a DC based client (Trump). Kinda weak but when Giuliani didn’t show up in court you don’t need a whole lot.
Giuliani lives in NY.
Freeman and her daughter live in Marietta.
How did a DC judge hear the case?
I feel like I keep answering this question. The complaint argues that Giuliani is a DC lawyer, committed the defamation (at least some of it) in DC and worked for a DC-based client (Trump). Since Rudy was a no-show in court, there's nobody to argue against jurisdiction.
Venue sounds appealable to me
“It’s a summary judgement and that would happen to anyone in any case where the defendant hasn’t followed the process or complied with discovery etc.”
**************
For the third time...I said “the judgement may be fair”. The judgement is one thing; its the unnecessary and intemperate embellishment that is the issue, and the fact that its coming from an Obama appointee with dubious integrity.
It is odd since there was a whole transcript of Ruby saying it was fraud, she and her daughter committed. It was released last week. Not understanding why Rudy didn’t submit any evidence or documents. Ruby got scared after she talked to some people and admitted they did fraud, then she shut up.
Their complaint references a number of refutations of Rudy’s statements. I have yet checked to see if they’re available online.
I’ll be looking into it.
I found 2 reports... but will not vouch for anything about them.... haven’t finished reading them yet.

Thanks.
“Mr. Giuliani, I can’t order you beheaded in this case, although I would dearly love to do so, because justice must be blind. But that shows that it is okay for me to have a blind hatred of you.”
The Left has ripped the blindfold off of Lady Justice.
Well, in this report:
an explanation on p. 6 appears says that scanning is not tabulating. What the page says is that the activity logs of the scanner shows that the ballots being scanned jammed multiple times and needed to be rescanned. According to the report, only after a clear scan was obtained was the batch of scanned ballots accepted for tabulation.
Thanks.
I can only see page 1 at the link.
So they were scanning ballots over and over.
Does it say why they were under a table in suitcases and they took them out after everyone else left?
