Dems will just put “migrants” in all of these office buildings. they can put them to work filling out mail-in ballots.

"Police and firefighters won’t be taking a 20% pay cut just because revenue stops coming in to city coffers."

Want to bet? Why can't government employees ever get a pay cut like the rest of us? Americans are getting tired of paying for public servants' masters' bloated salaries in gold plated retirements. Perhaps it's time to give all public sector employees a haircut.

“Why can’t government employees ever get a pay cut like the rest of us?”

When there is no more more money they will not be paid. It’s that simple.

We’ve covered the idea of an urban doom loop in places like San Francisco and New York. Today the Washington Post has a story up which argues that it’s actually midsized cities which are in the most danger of falling into a doom loop. In Indianapolis [...]

The population of Indianapolis is GREATER than the population of the City and County of San Francisco, by roughly 100,000.

The Downtown Doom Loop tour charged $30 to show the “doom and squalor of downtown San Francisco,” including its open-air drug markets, vacant office and retail spaces, and “outposts of the non-profit industrial complex.”

They should just convert the entire Tenderloin District into a theme park, replete with shops and cast-members.

And can you imagine the theme-oriented merch they could sell to the tourists?

The brown paper bag test is a good first order approximation predicting if a city is headed for a doom loop.

Not how government works. Before that ever happens government will seize your property, assets etc...Government will be the very last to not be paid.

Cities are social entities. When the social fabric gets ripped to shreds, the entity dies.

The doom loop is a very good thing. The difussion of power by distributing people out means less concentrated money and thus power in a few big cities.

More people need to move out of cities to tge country.

“No city has completely fallen into this yet ... “

How quickly liberals forget.

Puerto Rico went bankrupt in 2016, with $72 billion in debt and $55 billion in unfunded pension liabilities

Detroit, Michigan went bankrupt in 2013, with $18 billion in debt

Jefferson Co., Alabama, went bankrupt in 2011, with $4 billion in debt

The corrupt politicos come for the libraries first.

The lack of workers downtown has a direct impact on other businesses that were based around the downtown foot traffic. Restaurants, boutiques, drug stores—with less demand some of them close and others struggle to stay open.

But the ones closer to the 'burbs are doing better. Heck, the general stores are as busy as I've ever seen them.
