There was ZERO chance Ukraine would be accepted into NATO, had Russia not invaded. On that count, Russia gained nothing, and lost substantially with Sweden and Norway joining NATO. Anyone who regurgitates that old “NATO threat” nonsense is, well, spewing nonsense and / or ignorance.

OTOH Russia HAS for now blocked Ukraine from becoming a low cost oil and gas supplier to Europe. I still consider that Russia’s primary goal, tho’ of course they and their tools will never say that. This has come at the cost of sales to Europe anyway, but, global prices are still a bit high, so, Russia for now is limping along with revenues down, but not out of rubles yet.

I'm not pro-Russia. Never have been, never will be when it comes to this conflict. My position is clear: Not our circus. Both places are corrupt crapholes 5,000 miles from the US. Neither is a threat to the US. either now or in the foreseeable future. The greatest threat to the American way of life is inside its borders and those who pose that existential threat are "mysteriously" all in for Youcrayne, reason enough to be suspicious about the whole show.

So, do you really believe that people who support Ruzzzziia against Youcrayne also believe that the US moon landings were faked or is your statement simply a veiled insult meant to circumvent Jim Robinson's rule against throwing personal insults at fellow Freepers? Whatever. But. . .what IS true is that Youkazoids actually believe the jingoistic fantasy that the "fight for Youcrayne" is a fight for the West's freedom and that if Ruzzzziiiiaaa wins it will resurrect its Soviet past and then conquer the world. As one censorious, Youkazoid fantasist on FR states in their tagline, "No CCP 2.0!!" or something to that effect. A laughable bit of nonsense with no basis in reality.

Reality: The dynamic in play between Youcrayne and Ruzzzziiiiaaa bears little resemblance to the one that was in play between the Axis and England, France and the other Allies. Simply put the fate of the Free World is not at stake if (and probably when) Youcrayne loses nor is it at stake if Russia wins. So one must ask a simple question: Why is the US fighting a proxy war against Ruzzziiiiaa by propping up the most corrupt nation in Europe? There are no reasons for that that are not nefarious in nature.
