My little bit of knowledge on this tells me its not local blacks.

Its illegal immigrant blacks from Haiti, or from Africa, brought over by criminal gangs for the express purpose of thievery and crime.

Me too. I write checks for all my bills and mail them. Not one company has access to my bank account. I also know this will probably all end some day.

Why not? They know store security won’t stop them, they know they won’t be prosecuted, and they are claiming reparations. We look more and more like South Africa every day.

So you would welcome a $2600 dollar a year pay cut? Same thing with retailers. Tax deductibility is manifestly fair since we tax profits and shrinkage is a one-for-one reduction in profits. To the extent that stores have to take measures prevent theft, it costs them money. Stores are in a better position to judge how much to pay to reduce shrinkage, which will also reduce profit and sales, than any bureaucrats or bloggers.

Again, your thinking is not correct.

Allowing corporations to deduct theft before taxes is a disincentive to the corporations to enact theft reduction measures, and spreads the burden of the theft to the public taxpayers through reduced payment of taxes by the corporation.

If theft expenses were purely after tax, companies would be more incentivized to reduce theft.

I get your point. It’S just wrong. You are saying that theft should not be a legitimate tax deduction. The government, the retailer and the shopper all share the burden of theft, thought most directly the retailer. Your plan would relieve the government of its burden in lost taxes, THEREBY PROVIDING EVEN LESS INCENTIVE TO GOVERNMENT to prosecute thieves. This would only create even more food and retail deserts in poor neighborhoods, hurt the poorest shoppers the most. Why do you hate poor people?

“As long as shrink is tax deductible this will continue.”

That is truly asinine. You yourself could get a big tax deduction by leaving your doors open and letting thieves help themselves. How come you don’t do it?

No, as long as do-gooders keep electing people who won’t punish these crimes, this will continue.

Security guards at the store are told to not physically confront looters in case they might hurt them and then get sued. Why even bother having them?

Or, stores will have free memberships. To enter the store you’ll have to show your card, and pass through security.

Store managers don’t override corporate bean counters.

From last year...

NRF Reports Retail Shrink Nearly a $100B Problem

Now think about how much of that got written off.

Interesting article from 2 years ago...

https://www.shopify.com/retail/retail-shrinkage

I wasn’t aware of the unattributed loss category.

I wonder if those losses are tax deductible...

You nailed it. The greatest lie perpetrated in the last 100 years is the squashing of the truth that ferals are fully human. They are not. It was known and accepted they are not until ~100 years ago…. There are all the people of the world and then there are these soulless animals.

This doesn’t happen in even Third World nations. We are collapsing & they are trying to imprison the only person who might help us.

What a deal!

Lose 100% and get 30% back!

Like I said, you could get the same great deal. Leave your doors open, let utes help themselves and you get your tax deductions.

“THEREBY PROVIDING EVEN LESS INCENTIVE TO GOVERNMENT to prosecute thieves.”

Now you’re getting outright foolish.

Your phantom reduction of “INCENTIVE TO GOVERNMENT to prosecute thieves” (they basically already don’t) would be more than offset by the REAL incentive of retailers to reduce theft.

The greater good would better be served here by having the private sector solve its own problems, rather than subsidizing an inefficient and disinterested government.

Why do you hate the private sector, and all people in general, and love Big Government, higher taxes, and the Police State?

I am sorry, I was just showing you the logical conclusion one would reach using your “reasoning”. It appears you got my point. Maybe.
