The Gee administration over the last 10 years pursued an explosion of building projects. If you drove through Morgantown, it seemed there was a new building or building renovation every block. It gave the impression to many that WVU was awash with funds. The Gee administration acted as if they were convinced that student population growth would go on forever. They bought the old Mylan pharmaceutic plant building supposedly for their “Innovation Center” all they’ve done with it is rent out space.
Gee should have resigned immediately after this announcement!
Note the state - WV has a “$1.1 billion above estimate” budget surplus. However, none of that should be used to bail out WVU unless Gee and his “administrative” straphangers are gone!
