I'd be willing to bet that the gang member she screwed is an ex-con/parolee...probably having done time more than once. And if I'm right, any personal relationship she had with him in her capacity of District Attorney, would be a violation of the rules all elected county officials, and county law enforcement employees are required to follow. I worked in NY State Corrections. Relationships with inmates and parolees were not allowed, and was a violation of the guidelines of behavior the State set for uniformed employees. I'm assuming she carries a badge as District Attorney. If so, she was required to comport herself in a manner, not to bring embarrassment to the County, and the office of the District Attorney. If a Correctional Officer was found to be having a relationship with a convict, in or out of the prison...it didn't even have to be of a sexual nature, they were deemed a threat to security, and were given the option to resign, or face departmental charges.
The fact that this D.A. still has a job is outrageous. She is a threat to the security of the District Attorney's office, not to mention the fact that once she slept with that gang member, she compromised the office of the D.A. and any credibility that she may have once had. You don't sleep with criminals, and then expect to keep a job that requires you to enforce the rules and laws, and apply them fairly and equally. In other words, you can't hold other people accountable for the same rules and laws, that you, yourself refuse to follow.
