Actually the office buildings could be converted into Migrant Ghettoes. Highrise office buildings could house tens of thousands of migrants and save the NYC mayor Eric Adams from becoming a racist Hispanic hater. All of those offices have bathrooms, breakrooms, etc. providing ideal amenities.

Exactly. We’re not going back. Ever.

We’ve now seen that its not necessary. Commuting into an office is just all downside with no upside for workers.

I’ve heard a lot of people saying that it won’t be easy or even possible to convert many office buildings to residential. Firstly, the bathrooms and piping is all wrong and would have to be totally reworked. Also, for many it would be difficult to provide an apartment with a window due to the depth of the building.

I wonder how many are going to be left empty and abandoned. Also, why on earth would anybody want to live in a big densely populated city if not for a well paying job located there?

They should repurpose some of the buildings as apartments or condos.

“They should repurpose some of the buildings as apartments or condos.”

I believe that is what will happen. Unfortunately, I also believe it will be at tax-payer expense and for illegal aliens.

I am sitting in Wyoming 1700 miles from my office in New England. Feels good man.

Being able to go anywhere is great. You can also take work vacations.
Rent a VRBO in anyplace with decent internet, split the work in half, and enjoy the beach in Aruba, the mountain areas of Switzerland…
I design projects, so I don’t require other people’s input.
I can also beat timelines without working the prescribed hours.
