There’s more they can do than just make sure companies don’t cheat the public. In fact DeSantis himself called a special legislative session in May 2022, to try and address the problem. It’s a complex problem with a number of contributing factors, and changes in state laws and regulations can have an impact. The high cost of insurance litigation was one of the thing that the Florida legislature tried to address in last year’s special session.
