It’s unbelievable that the other Repukes can’t figure out that attacking Trump and his record isn’t the way to the nomination. This guy builds off of Trump and gives Trump credit for everything he’s done and had to endure. As a result he hasn't made an enemy of Trump or his supporters. I’ve said for sometime that I would expect him and Haley to rise after the first set of debates. You may want to throw Scott into that. Also, anyone who is smart enough to pivot off of Christie’s inevitable attacks on Trump into a full throated defense of Trump will also rise sharply (with the exception of Desanctimonius, everyone will know it’s disingenuous).

I soooooo agree with you. Ardent Trump supporters will not allow another republican a chance. I’m voting for whoever wins the primary. The infighting has to stop. Democrats love it and it divides us. A lot can happen in 1 1/2 years.

Why running?
To be VP on a Trump ticket, be in the cabinet, get his name out there as an investment in a political future. Probably a few other reasons.

Until the anointing at the convention it’s still possible Trump could fall. That would be an opportunity for him. He could credibly argue that he has picked up the MAGA cause since he’s been openly Trump supportive.

Good question. Any reaction to any politician is a calculated risk aka gamble. To be a good campaigner, one first has to become a good actor or effective performer, even when such performance is against your nature. Vivek is an interesting newcomer. We need new-ish, younger people to throw in with the tasks of leadership. I still wish V. Ramaswamy had thought to snip his last name down a bit, as a way to Americanize and make easier to retain.

I agree - he positioned himself where DeSantis should have (meaning as an enemy of the Globalists, rather than their best friend), and now it looks like he’ll be #2 to Trump.

Oh well, DeSantis had so much promise...but that’s life.
