Years ago a developer built on a wooded area behind our house. The neighbors tried to get it declared a park but that didn’t go anywhere. It was all fir trees with some trails.
The guy was supposed to be very selective in the trees that were cut. He ended up cutting every single one of them down. The project got shut down for a bit and he was fined some small amount.
Once they got going with the project again I was talking to some guy loading up the 60-foot long logs onto logging trucks. He said the guy got fined ($1k a tree??) but these logs were headed to Japan where he got $10k(?) per log.
39. This guy would think that a concrete statue of an ass was a monument to him.
